Wake up with the birds this May Bank Holiday!

International Dawn Chorus Day is an opportunity to pause, listen and welcome the enchanting sound of early morning birdsong.

Did you know this celebration holds its roots right here in Birmingham? In May 1987, local broadcaster and nature enthusiast Chris Baines marked his birthday by inviting his friends and family to Moseley Bog, to take in the special sounds of nature at this time of year.

This single gathering sparked an annual tradition, which is now observed worldwide on the first Sunday of May.

To celebrate, we’ll be embarking on an experience like no other. Beginning in darkness, we’ll practise yoga as the sun rises, welcoming daybreak and soaking up those early morning rays, to the beautiful backdrop of the musical feathered creatures.
