About the event
For our next Masterclass, we’re focusing on a fundamental posture that features regularly in our FLOW practices, chaturanga dandasana!
This posture is often overlooked as we hold it only briefly, in our movement through vinyasa, which can lead to poor alignment and bad habits creeping in.
Vicky will be leading this Masterclass, and is determined to help you understand and improve your technique.
Together, you will try various exercises to help your form and experiment with a range of options that will work for you - wherever you are in your practice or for those days your energy is a bit lower.
This workshop is great if you’re looking to feel more stable in your vinyasa and see real progress over time.
It’s also a perfect opportunity to check whether you’re ‘doing it right’ as chaturanga is a widely-confused and super hard posture to get. It takes time and practice.
We will explore various options to take whilst building up to the full posture, which can also be taken whenever you’re feeling a little lower on energy when you practice.
Feeling strong in this posture is a really good step in the right direction if you’re looking to progress towards our more dynamic practices, such as FLOW and FLOW+.
What To Expect:
- Common issues
- Anatomical theory
- Drills to practice at home
- Progressions of the pose
- Tips to keep you safe
Who is this suitable for?
This workshop is suitable for those wanting to progress from BASICS+ to FLOW, or anyone who's not sure they're 'doing it right' in their regular vinyasa-based practices.
Chaturanga isn’t just helpful for the hundreds of vinyasas you’ll do over your lifetime as a yogi - it’s also super helpful for gaining confidence in arm balances too!
