Yoga Teacher

What was your journey to becoming a yoga teacher?

Practising yoga has been a huge part of my life for 10 years. In 2017 I started a daily morning yoga practice, this set me up with structure for the day and helped me to connect with myself, others and nature. In 2021 I decided to take my practice further. Practising yoga had bought so much to my life so I decided to complete my 200hr YTT. Initially I started the course to learn more about the philosophy but as I progressed I wanted others to experience what yoga has taught me. I started teaching in my back garden in the summer 2022, then had the incredible opportunity of teaching the Basics class at IAY in Jan 2023.

What does your downtime look like?

Running around after 2 young kids. Exploring in nature, catching up with friends, swimming, cycling, running and travelling.

If you weren’t a yoga teacher, what would you be?

I also work as a nurse but I would love to work on a beach in a turtle hatchery.

How does practicing yoga help your day to day life?

It gives me structure and routine. It allows me to connect with myself and my breath. In this busy world it’s hard to stay grounded, yoga helps me find those moments when I can feel grounded.

A fun fact about you?

I have a 1972 VW campervan called Babs.
